Love this local ice cream shop. You can order inside our the window outside. Service is quick and efficient. Inside decor reminds me of a 50s diner. Variety of ice cream to choose from: soft serve, milk shakes, novelty ice creams, and more. They have expanded their hours and are open later on weekends.

Small town ice cream shop and it's the best in the Des Moines suburbs if you ask me! The only place that even comes close would be home sweet cone in Waukee and I'd still prefer heavenly delights.

Yummy little ice cream stop in Grimes. LOTS of options for treats, anything from hard serve, to soft serve, to shakes. You'll definitely find something for everyone here. The inside menu can be overwhelming for a first-timer like me, there's so many options. The pictures are handy to help you find what you are looking for. There's a few seating options inside, but you're most likely going to get the ice cream to go or eat it outside. I was pleased with the vast seating options outside. Portions are what you'd expect and treats taste great. I got the Krunch Kote, I don't think I've had anything similar enough to compare it to, but have seen other people get them and was curious to try it myself. The ice cream was truly "koted" with the Krunch.

I have tried a lot of ice cream places and I have to say that Heavenly Delight takes the cake!!! I have been here twice now and love the small town Grimes feeling while standing in line with a bunch of sports teams and families. I have tried the Milky Way, butter brickel and monter cookie flavors. I recommend them all but especially the monster cookie flavored ice cream. Not only do I recommend trying the monster cookie, I would recommend getting a pint of quart as you are going to long for more bites after it's gone!!. I love peanut butter so the thick, continual swirls of peanut butter along with the other monster cookie components have me coming back for more. Thank god for small local businesses like this one that have the customer/fan base to keep them in business. Wherever you are located around the Des Moines area, you have to make the drive it's well worth it!

We are enjoying Heavenly Delights this year! I appreciate the upgrade with sorbets on the menu for those with egg and dairy intolerance/allergy!!! Cones are dairy and egg free as well. Visited on a Tuesday afternoon and it was perfect. I hope to see their menu properly labeled for those who seek dairy free options one day. But for now, it's easy to ask what's available. Highly recommend a visit out here as they are loaded with flavors and options now!
